I'm sort of into Dostoevsky at the moment. So that explains away the title.
Introduction aside, it feels great to be back. And looking at my blog, I'm amazed at how things have changed over time, how I have changed over time. I've surprised myself on quite a few occasions, I've let myself down on even more. Apparent truths became lies and apparent lies became truths. At the end of it all, I can only think of a quote by Socrates. "There are only two kinds of people in this world- the Wise, who think they are fools and the fools, who think they are wise". All that I know is that I don't know much at all.
My first post when I started this blog was about the marriage market. And now I am back to square one. That was a time when I was just a silent spectator. I used to think I'd somehow be different. I hoped my life wouldn't be just another statistic, another blip on the radar.
I was wrong. To be more accurate, I'm realizing I might be wrong. I'm officially on the market. I might as well as be a gadget with a price tag and a bunch of specifications and that wouldn't make an inch of a difference given the current situation.
This is India and I can't fight against it.. trying to be an idealist. It will just be chasing mirages in the desert.
I'd probably be able to write an essay on the evils of dowry and caste system and domestic abuse etc etc... but then, once I'm into the whole system, i realize there is not much I can do about it.
This is just going to be the beginning.. apparently. I'm still waiting to see how things pan out.
I rambled.. now I see it. But I wanted to post this because I want to post part three.. what the outcome of this whole thing would be.
Funny, how things turn out.
