My somewhat ironic sense of humor is back.. (if it counts as humor). Hopefully one day I'll be able to look back at this blog and be able to laugh at myself. In a way I hope this post is going to effectively ruin any of my chances of getting married..
First off, I am atypical in some ways. So what I write may count as irrational. Apologies in advance.
They do say first impression is the best impression. I suppose people do judge us by our first impressions. But I don't like it. I get sorely disappointed when someone on their first impression is all nice..and once you get to know them, they are an entirely different person altogether. My brain just doesn't get it. In my part, I don't try to put up a mask when it comes to people. So even if I get called a nerd, or a weirdo.. I don't mind..since I never want people to have a wrong high opinion of me. I'd probably be the worst person in politics and marketing..
I ended up on a matrimony site..and a few things felt really odd for me..
1. Photographs: The photos are either taken back when people aren't fat, (good ol' college days), or just taken in a really saintly pose.. Saint here in this site has a profile pic in Facebook with a bottle of Tequila..
moral: Either be smart enough to lie, or be smart enough to change the privacy settings in your Facebook profiles.
2. Religiousness: I'm not going to debate about legalism/traditionalism vs gospel of grace.. Nothing..
I'd actually appreciate the honesty of some people..who are brave enough to set it as 'Sunday church goer, Average Christian' etc..
I spotted a few acquaintances..and to my knowledge they've almost never bothered to turn up at church except Christmases and Easters.. the so called 'God fearing' families.. the domestic violence that goes inside..think almost the entire neighborhood knows about it.
Although I've noticed, whatever be the religiousness of the guy's family.. the girl they're looking for always has to be God fearing..and very religious..
3. Hobbies: In my personal opinion, listening to music doesn't count as a hobby.. till now I haven't found a person who has said 'I hate listening to music'.. and chores like watering the house plants becomes 'gardening'.. cutting up onions becomes 'cooking' ...
Conclusion: This post is immature.. and I don't know how girls usually project themselves. But I was stunned by the real life description of some people and this biodata description.. how vast the gap was.. hence the post.
